History

Roy and Debby Holmes took over Silica Lodge in 1994, back then it was a small nursery consisting of a small greenhouse and flower beds. Since then Silica Lodge has gained a reputation for offering a fantastic range of plants you’d expect from a traditional garden centre.

We stock a large range of plants from Roses, Shrubs and Trees through to seasonal Plants, House plants and Seeds. A comprehensive range of gardening Sundries, Chemicals, Giftware, Composts, Pots, Aggregates and everything you need for your outdoor pond in our Aquatics department.

With greater involvement in recent years from Roy & Debby’s son Mark & Daughter in law Stefanie the Garden Centre has grown beyond recognition from the early days as a small nursery. Silica Lodge still manages to keep the traditional family run garden centre ethos but now offers so much more than just plants!

Following an extensive programme of development work in 2012/2013 Silica Lodge now offers a fantastic selection of Garden Furniture & Outdoor Leisure, Conservatory Furniture & Cane Suites, Indoor Oak Furniture. The brand new gift department is stocked year round with a great selection of gifts including a great selection of Yankee Candles – you are sure to find an ideal gift at Silica Lodge.

As part of the development work Silica Lodge now boasts a superb Coffee Shop offering high quality home cooked meals, snacks and delicious treats! The fantastic new Coffee Shop is decorated to a high standard and even boasts an outdoor terrace to take in those long summer afternoons whilst enjoying an ice cream!

We now offer a delivery service, so don’t worry if you can’t fit a large item in your car. Whether it be a bird table or set of furniture or maybe you can’t fit enough compost in your car, we can deliver it all for you.

We also have TopSoil available for delivery in loose loads throughout the Scunthorpe & Surrounding Areas. We also have rolls of Turf available on a Friday (Weather Dependant). You are best to order Turf in advance to avoid disappointment!
